CEETV and NATPE today announce that 11 formats will be competing for the title of Best New CEE Format in the second edition of PITCH & PLAY LIVE which will be held at NATPE Budapest (June 19-22).

The titles come from seven different countries in Central and Eastern Europe: Bulgaria, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine. This year Russia has the biggest number of submissions with a total of 4 entries.

The selected shows are: Dirty Dancing from Just.tv in Lithuania, Everybody Dance! From WeiT Media in Russia, Love Survivors from Novy in Ukraine, Psychics versus Detectives, SUPERYOU! and Secret for a Million from NTV Russia, Start Up Slovenia from POP TV, Summer Flirt from Hidalgo Productions in Bulgaria, The Dowry Call from Kanal D Romania, The Big Rock Break from BNT in Bulgaria and The Land is Singing from Nunez NFE in Slovakia.

The selection committee consisting of Samantha Ferguson, Format Sales Executive at Banijay Rights; Jonathan Tuovinen, Head of International for Rabbit Films; Elwin de Groot, Senior Creative Director in Armoza Formats’ Development Department; Georgi R. Chakarov, CEO at CEETV, TVBIZZ Group and Dann Novak, Programming Producer, NATPE will now review and cast its votes to determine the Top 3 finalists of the format competition.

The Top 3 finalist titles will be presented live and in person by their creators during the PITCH & PLAY LIVE session at NATPE Budapest in front of our respected jury: Levina Negi, VP, Global Acquisitions and Development, FremantleMedia; Péter Kolosi, Deputy CEO, Director of Programming, RTL Hungary, and Bence Trunkó, Chief Creative Officer, Paprika Latino Studios.

Following the pitches in front of the NATPE Budapest attendees, the jury will vote and determine which show will be named Best New CEE Format 2017.
