Research: bTV is the most-independent TV channel in Bulgaria

Bulgarian commercial net bTV issued a press release with data from a recent survey made by Noema agency according to which it is the most-independent TV channel and viewers’ first choice when it comes to coverage of political events. The survey was made in July and is representative on national level, with 1000 respondents aged 15-70.

Against the background of the economic crisis after the isolation and numerous protests in the country, 30.8% of all people aged 35-54 named bTV as the television they consider the most independent and impartial from the government and other political influences in covering political topics and events. (26.1% for Nova TV; 7.1% for BNT).

Nearly 40% of all respondents in the same age category choose bTV in the first place to be informed during key political events, such as elections (33.4% for Nova TV; 9.3% for BNT1).

According to 37.6% of all adults, bTV gives the audience access to the ideas of the widest range of representatives of various political forces (30.7% for Nova TV, 7% for BNT1).

When asked whether they follow the topics in development and in which media, almost 60% of the respondents indicate bTV, and 34.7% of all adults put it in the first place.

At a time when bTV's program prioritizes news content and coverage of political life in the country, the survey shows that over 36% of all respondents believe that television provides access to the most accurate, reliable and objective information at the time at important political events (nearly 28% for Nova TV; 7% for BNT1).

Over 37% of all respondents believe that bTV presents political information in the most accessible and understandable way (28.5% for Nova TV, 9.5% for BNT1). The survey confirms the leading position of bTV in terms of new technologies that illustrate the information - 36.6% of all adults (28% for Nova TV and 6.2% for BNT1).

Most users in the age group 35-54 believe in the site btvnovinite.bg to the greatest extent among TV sites as a source of information on important socio-political topics - 17.7%. (12.3% for nova.bg). Most users in the category would also trust the social networks of bTV for current and impartially presented news - 21.2%. (16.4% for Nova TV).
