FilmBox channels rebrand in Romania and Poland
Effective Tuesday, September 29th, 2015 two movie channels from the FilmBox portfolio in Poland and Romania will be rebranded. FilmBox HD will be renamed FilmBox Extra HD while FilmBox Extra will become FilmBox Premium. FilmBox HD channel will also be renamed FilmBox Extra HD in the countries where it is carried by numerous DTH platforms and cable networks (namely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugo republics).
"The name change comes as a result of an internal brand review, which indicated the need to clearly distinguish our flagship premium channel (currently called FilmBox Extra) from the other FilmBox brand channels and also to make it easier for our subscribers to navigate within the FilmBox channel offer. The new names allow for clearer identification of content featured on the particular channel," explains Berk Uziyel, Executive Director of FilmBox International Ltd. The channels’ profiles will remain unchanged. FilmBox Extra HD is addressed to viewers who value watching movies and TV series in the highest quality of image and sound and who wish to have a true cinema experience in their homes. FilmBox Premium is a movie channel which offers new films soon after their cinema releases. The channel features Hollywood blockbusters, winners of prestigious film festivals, gems of European cinema as well as popular high-budget TV series. On the same day (September 29th, 2015) the rebranding will be applied to the FilmBox HD channel in the countries where it is carried by various DTH platforms and cable networks (namely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugo republics). The current FilmBox HD will be change its name to FilmBox Extra HD. FilmBox (basic) channel, which focuses on entertainment cinema, presenting top movie stars in Hollywood hits and airs popular TV series, will keep its current name. FilmBox brand channels are distributed by Filmbox International Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kino Polska TV S.A. whose majority stakeholder is SPI International BV. RELATED
