The Format Show reveals program for its Spring Edition
The FORMAT SHOW is a one-day conference dedicated to format industry and screening of the newest and the most popular TV formats from all around the world, held in Kiev, Ukraine. For 7 years in the game, FORMAT SHOW became the perfect meeting place for professional in TV and media markets of Ukraine and CIS countries with partners from around the world, as well as an effective platform for exploring the global format trends. Since 2015 FORMAT SHOW is held twice a year: Spring Edition and traditionally in September in the course of KIEV MEDIA WEEK.
The event organizers decided to update the conference format by adding to its program educational component. Screenings and panel discussions will be accompanied by lectures and master classes both for those who make their first steps in the format business, as well as for already established industry professionals. Besides the final round of SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS contest, organized by Media Resources Management (Ukraine) in partnership with Small World IFT (USA), will take place on the upcoming FORMAT SHOW day. “Everyone knows the success story of such hits as Korean Better Late Than Never or Israeli Rising Star and Boom. This tendency is already proved by buyers’ and distributors’ hard look at any good idea with strong international appeal, no matter country of origin. And Ukrainian market is no exception. Our formats line-up featuring Sniffer, Crack Them Up, Mystical Tales, The Auditor, Daddy’s House and many others have already conquered the viewer’s love far beyond the region (for example in China and France). I believe creative minds armed with knowledge how to move their idea internationally would contribute a lot to the future of the industry. That’s why we decided to implement the educational component into the FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition, since not everyone knows what to do with the ideas to sell them to Japan or the US someday. Of course not least important part of the FORMAT SHOW is traditional screening of the newest formats, because it is crucial to know and understand global trends”, - comments Victoria Yarmoshchuk, CEO of Media Resources Management. Renewed FORMAT SHOW Spring Edition program Traditional sessions: screenings of the formats of non-scripted and scripted content from international prodcos and distributors review of the latest trends of global TV format business final round of SMALL WORLD. BIG IDEAS contest New educational sessions: master-classes on: ‘formatting’ the idea; appropriate drawing up the idea and its pitching to TV channels, production companies; project’s promotion at international markets; successful international multiplatform formats case studies; thematic discussion: branded content; face-to-face meetings with Ukrainian and international TV industry experts.
