AMC Networks International – CE launches three new local AMC feeds starting 16th August
AMC Networks International – Central Europe will launch three new local AMC feeds throughout the region starting 16th August. This includes dedicated 24-hour AMC channels serving audiences with unique programming in the Czech Republic/Slovakia, Romania and Slovenia.
The first dedicated AMC feed for Hungary was launched in December 2014 and proved to be a great success as viewership tripled within a few months. Now three dedicated AMC feeds in Romania, the Czech Republic/Slovakia and Slovenia will replace the Central European feed serving numerous countries and which has been in place since the channel’s launch in November 2014. “AMC experienced tremendous local viewership growth in Hungary after the launch of our dedicated local feed,” said Levente B. Málnay, CEO of AMC Networks International – Central Europe. “We believe that launching dedicated AMC feeds in other Central European countries will provide even stronger connections to local audiences and will yield more outstanding results.” Through this milestone development, AMC’s channels in these countries will have specific programming schedules to address the needs of local audiences with an enriched and dedicated content selection. Action movie fans in Romania in August will have access to films from A-list stars such as Jean Reno, Steven Seagal and Jason Statham, among others. In the Czech Republic and Slovakia, August will bring a diverse line-up of films like The Sixth Day, Malcolm X and 30 Days of Night, while September will feature titles like Rum Diary, Chaos Theory and The Ghost Writer. AMC will also continue to bring numerous exclusive series premieres to its viewers across all programming feeds. Among them will be season 2B of fan favorite series “Fear the Walking Dead”, launching as a world premiere on 22nd August. “Fear the Walking Dead” season 1 and 2A will also be scheduled as marathon events to give an opportunity for viewers to catch-up with this exclusive original drama from AMC Studios. In addition to enriched programming, audiences in Romania will benefit from earlier starting hours of AMC’s hit series, which are set to broadcast at 22.00, as program scheduling will follow the local Romanian time zone instead of the previously used CET times.
