Global Agency organized a special event for its clients and partners at Nikki Beach in Monaco yesterday to mark the launch of their new drama Mother (Anne). The event was also attended by the main star of the show – one of Turkey’s most famous actresses Cansu Dere.

Dere told CEETV that she likes taking on roles that are completely different to what her actual life is and in this case viewers will see her in the role of a woman who was abandoned by her family and who is trying to help a girl who was abused by her father and how the two will connect. The actress added that she is happy this story will reach a global audience.

Mother will premiere on Star TV on October 25, taking the Tuesday primetime slot. The series is based on the Japanese award-winning format by Nippon TV which was acquired by MF Yapim and Medyapim.

Mother is the story of a woman who responds to an abused girl's silent cries of help. The drama follows an aloof 30+-year-old woman who works reluctantly as an elementary school teacher and notices bruises on her first grade student. Initially, like everyone else, she looks the other way. But the student’s wretched desperation soon awakens a passion and determination in this caring teacher. Together they skip town and embark on a risky journey pretending to be mother and child. Mother chronicles the transformation of a once disenchanted woman who suddenly takes on the role of a parent to a child who is starved for maternal love. The drama probes into the meaning of motherhood in modern society.
