Polish cable networks and pay-TV providers can expect a profit of 6 to 10% of the costs of providing information on their subscribers to the Post Office, the collector of radio and TV license fees, PAP agency reported. As emphasized by the authors of the draft legislation proposing the obligation of cable and pay-TV operators to report their subscribers for the purpose of license fee collection, all the operators' costs will be reimbursed. The legislators claim that implementing the act will not incur costs for the operators, but rather, they will make gain a profit of up to 6 – 10% of the costs.

Providers of pay TV services will be able to accept registrations of radio/ TV receivers from their subscribers and forward these to the Polish Post Office, the designated collector of radio and TV license fees. They will also be obliged to report information on every signed subscriber contract. Polish Post will be entitled to ask pay TV operators for information about the number of their clients.

The authors of the draft new legislation say that all the obligations imposed on providers of pay TV that generate costs on their side will be paid for. The amount of compensation will be set by the National Broadcasting Council KRRiT in a regulation.
