DNA sends Dumitru Dragomir and six other people to court
Dumitru Dragomir, former president of the Romanian Professional Football League (LFP), together with the company RCS&RDS and other six was sent to court by prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) in an EUR 3,5 million corruption case, Business Review reports. The defendants are accused of bribe taking and complicity to money laundering.
Prosecutors of the DNA decided to send to court Dragomir, the president of the LFP at the time the alleged offence took place, for bribe taking and complicity to money laundering and Ioan Bendei, administrator of SC RCS&RDS SA at the time, for bribery and complicity to money laundering. According to the DNA, in the same case were sent to court former SC Body SRL manager Florin Bogdan Badita, for complicity to bribery and money laundering, Bogdan Dumitru Dragomir, sole associate of SC Bodu SRL at the time of the offence, for complicity to bribe taking and complicity to money laundering, Alexandru Oprea, general director and president of the council of administration of RCS&RDS at the time, for complicity to bribery, as well as Mihai Dinei, coordinator of the legal activity of RCS&RDS at the time, for complicity to bribery and complicity to money laundering, and Serghei Bulgac, at the time general director of RCS&RDS, for money laundering. The prosecutors also decided to send to court the companies RCS&RDS, for bribery and money laundering, Bodu SRL, for complicity to bribe taking and money laundering, and Integrasoft SRK, for complicity to money laundering. According to prosecutors, between April 2009-2011, Dumitru Dragomir, in his position of LPF president, with the support of Florin Bogdan Badita, Bogdan -Dumitru Dragomir and Bodu SRL, allegedly requested the amount of EUR 3.5 million from Ioan Bendei, administrator and shareholder of RCS&RDS at the time. From the amount, he received EUR 3,100,000 from RCS&RDS, and the money received was disguised as payments part of a contract of association concluded on 15 August 2009 for the funding of Crystal Palace Ballrooms.
