Netflix is getting ready to premiere the US adaptation of a Russian movie.

Hollywood producer Alexander Reznik and his production company East 2 West Entertainment presented the first trailer of series Seven Seconds, developed by the showrunner of The Killing Veena Sud for Netflix. It can be seen on TVBIZZ.

The criminal drama Seven Seconds is an adaptation of Russian movie The Major, written and directed by Yury Bykov. It explores the topics of social injustice, betrayal and true sorrow. After a white cop accidentally runs over an African-American teenager from Jersey City, a cover-up ensues and racial tensions explode.

Reznik and East 2 West Entertainment specialize in adaptations of Russian content for the American market. Previously, it produced What? Where? When? for ABC Television in 2012 and Through My Eyes for Fox Television in 2015.

Seven Seconds premieres on Netflix on February 23.
