ANCOM launches public consultation on spectrum for DTT
ANCOM, Romania’s communication regulator, has announced a public consultation for the spectrum available for DTT services. The organization announced in a statement on its website that Romania will cease to use the VHF band for TV services at the end of next year. Since 2014 it had four DTT auctions for this band together with a national and several regional UHF band multiplexes but not a single operator has expressed interest in acquiring them.
The announced consultation calls for views from interested parties and those views can be expressed until April 11 this year. ANCOM noted that existing regional multiplexes, together with newly acquired multiplexes, can be made into a national multiplex. RELATED
