The Mediapro Group announced yesterday that it has reached an agreement for the acquisition of VPK PRO, the largest independent television production company in Slovenia. CEETV reported first about the deal last month.

Based in Ljubljana, VPK PRO specializes in events production and transmission as well as developing and delivering television programs and has a prominent presence in Eastern Europe, with offices in Serbia (Belgrade) and Croatia (Zagreb). It currently has nearly 100 professionals who join the more than 6.500 that make up the Mediapro staff worldwide. The acquisition of VPK PRO by the Mediapro Group represents a step in the Group's international expansion and consolidates its presence throughout Europe, where it currently has offices in Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, England, Italy and Turkey. This integration will also mean the consolidation of the Mediapro Group’s audiovisual services activities in Central Europe, from audiovisual content production to distribution, as well as bolstering its fleet of outside broadcast vehicles.

The incorporation of the 6 UM HD in Ljubljana and 3 UM HD in Belgrade, all fully equipped for satellite transmission, will bring its total to 67 OB Units. VPK PRO also has four studios which will join the 64 studios Mediapro possesses throughout the world.
