AMC Networks’ president for Central & Northern Europe and UK is leaving the company
AMC Networks has announced that industry veteran Mike Moriarty, President of AMC Networks International (AMCNI) – Central & Northern Europe and UK, has decided to leave the company. Moriarty will be stepping down from his position at the end of the month.
Commenting on his decision, he said: “It has been a privilege to work with so many talented colleagues and friends throughout the years at AMC Networks and, prior to that, at Liberty Global,” said Moriarty. “I’m extremely proud of what we have achieved in establishing AMC Networks International as a global provider of excellent, sought-after content, especially throughout Central and Northern Europe and in all of the countries we cover through the UK division. With AMCNI’s strong position in these regions, I see this as the right time to explore new opportunities. I am especially looking forward to spending some more time with my family.” Ed Carroll, AMC Networks’ COO, added: “Mike has been a valuable contributor who has played a vital role as we’ve expanded AMC Networks’ global footprint and established AMCNI as a leading global channel group and content provider. “Mike has done outstanding work, particularly in developing the successful CBS Channels in the UK and creating a strong business in Central and Northern Europe. We deeply appreciate his many contributions to the company over his long tenure and wish him much success in his next chapter.” Moriarty has over 30 years of experience in the industry and was appointed president of AMCNI – Central & Northern Europe and UK in 2014 following AMC Networks’ acquisition of Liberty Global’s international content division called Chellomedia.
