AMCNI – CNE renews carriage agreement with Telekom Romania for kids network Minimax
 03 Jun 2019
AMC Networks International – Central and Northern Europe (AMCNI – CNE) announced that it has renewed a distribution agreement for Minimax with Telekom Romania, one of the country’s leading telecommunications providers. As of June 1, Telekom Romania’s basic channel package will feature the popular kids network.

Under the agreement, Minimax becomes available to nearly 85% of pay-TV subscribers in Romania, further strengthening the brand’s presence throughout Central and Eastern Europe. The channel, which expanded its airtime to a 24-hour service last year, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and is seen in five languages in 11 European countries.

Balázs Hajós, Vice President of Affiliate Sales, AMCNI – CNE, commented: “This agreement builds on our long-term partnership with Telekom Romania by making our popular kids network Minimax available widely throughout the region. As AMCNI continues to expand our portfolio of diverse channels, we’re committed to offering premium content to attract and entertain audiences of all ages around the world.”

Andreas Elsner, Chief Commercial Officer, Residential Segment, Telekom Romania, said: “We are happy to announce that Minimax channel is now part of our TV grid, thus delivering on our promise to provide quality TV content and meet the consumer’s different needs and preferences. This gives us the opportunity, on Children’s Day, to offer children the Minimax experience, by exploring new worlds together with their favorite characters.”

Telekom Romania’s subscribers will have access to exclusive, new episodes of the series “Spirit: Riding Free” from DreamWorks Animation, alongside summer weekend marathons of the popular “Masha and the Bear” animated series based on the children’s folk story. In July Minimax will debut the new season of “Littlest Pet Shop: A World of Our Own.” In August the channel will air popular movies to entertain the entire family from its newly enriched film library, alongside other new programming.
