Eccho Rights to represent brand-new Turkish drama Sisterhood produced by Sürec Film
Ahead of its debut on Star TV in Turkey, Eccho Rights announces that it will represent Sisterhood (Sevgili Geçmiş) internationally, which makes the series produced by Sürec Film the latest addition to the company’s lineup for MIPCOM.
With its premiere set for early November the drama marks the second title that Sürec Film and Eccho Rights partner on this season. As previously announced, the distributor also set to launch North Star (Kuzey Yildizi) at MIPCOM. With titles such as New Bride, Cennet and Cherry Season already sold to wide reaching international markets in recent years, both companies look forward to extending their successful partnership. “We are convinced that Sisterhood will be one of the biggest hits this season and are proud and excited to represent yet another one of Sürec’s remarkable projects,” says Handan Özkubat, Director of Turkish Drama at Eccho Rights. Sisterhood tells the story of Ipek, who is finalising her wedding plans when she is stunned to receive an anonymous letter telling her she has two sisters she never knew. The three agree to meet at the wedding. But as Ipek’s new husband Tekin angrily loses control after the party, they strike a fatal blow to his head in a desperate scuffle. Suddenly, in the course of a couple of days, these three go from not knowing of each other’s existence, to being at the center of a murder cover-up together. And their newly-formed sisterly bond is immediately put to the test. “We look forward to the launch of our newest series and are convinced it will win over audiences not only in Turkey but all over the world with its emotional and gripping story and impressive performances,” says Ali Gundogdu, CEO of Sürec Film.
