You read it first! Rabbit Films original format Globetrotters lands in Greece
Star Channel, one of Greece’s largest commercial broadcasters, is set to premiere a local adaptation of the Rabbit Films’ original adventure reality format, Globetrotters. CEETV reported first back in August that show will be aired on the channel
The Greek version, also called Globetrotters, will begin this Wednesday, airing at 21.00. The 12 x 90 mins series is produced by Star’s in-house production company Green Pixel. Globetrotters follows local celebrities who are competing against each other to complete a number of tasks around the world. Each task will always be located in a new country, where the celebrity needs to travel by using any means necessary. The original version was a 10 x 60 mins series that aired on Nelonen Finland in 2018. The Greek version will differ from the original in that it will feature three pairs of celebrities: married couple singer Haris Varthakouris and presenter Adelina Varthakouris; Masterchef Greece chefs Christos Mparkas and Pantelis Vouros; as well as father and son duo consisting of football player Stelios Kritikos and model Michael Angelos Kritikos. The series will be presented by Petros Polychronidis. “We are extremely excited to be launching Globetrotters on Star Channel this season and we hope this fresh take on reality travel will give our audience an around-the-world ticket to plenty of fun and entertainment in the company of well-loved celebrities,” commented Nathalie Woodfield, Program Director of Star. Jonathan Tuovinen, Head of International at Rabbit Films stated: “Globetrotters is a very tough and fun adventure series, which we think will be perfect for Greek audiences. The combination of exotic travel and high-energy celebrities provide for an irresistible viewing experience. We have been very happy to work with both Star TV to adapt the best possible version of this exciting format for Greece.” In addition to Globetrotters, Rabbit will be presenting a slate of brand-new formats at the upcoming MIPCOM 2019. Heading the lineup is competition reality series Battle Ranch, which features 12 fearless contestants competing in crazy farm-related challenges. The first season is currently on air on MTV3 Finland and is the highest rated original program launch of the season to date. To celebrate its upcoming 100th episode, Rabbit is representing the comedy panel format Should I Be Worried. The features a panel of quirky celebrity author panelists who hilariously comment on the ordinary and extraordinary things that worry the viewers. The show’s 7th season is currently airing on MTV3 Finland to both rave reviews and continued high ratings. RELATED
