Antenna adapts Gil Formats’ Capturing the Moment
 27 Jul 2020
Greek broadcaster, Antenna TV, has commissioned a series of 12 episodes of Gil Formats’ factual entertainment format, Capturing the Moment, the format owner announced.

The series is due to premiere at the end of 2020, and will be the 6th international commission of the format, following previous productions in Spain, Germany, Israel, Czech Republic and Poland.

Capturing the Moment is an emotional format that sees individuals reveal their personal experiences and learnings around universally complex issues such as love, politics, careers and family. Each episode features inspiring personal stories captured in a precious photo, alongside elements of social history and archive footage, and culminates in the recreation of this photo with the contributor, by a top photographer, years after the original was taken.

Assaf Gil, CEO of Gil Formats, said: “Capturing the Moment brings to the screen powerful and inspirational human stories, and is the perfect platform to tell these stories in a sensitive and elevating way.

We are all experiencing a shift in the TV industry lately with COVID-19 entering our lives: budgets are getting smaller but the need for uplifting shows is in very high demand. Currently, the present and future may look uncertain but a show like Capturing The Moment that cherishes nostalgic moments in the past is the ultimate format to broadcast these days. Antenna TV immediately saw the potential of it, and we are thrilled about this new collaboration with them.”

George Pofantis, CCO of Antenna TV, said: “We are very excited to produce and broadcast Capturing the Moment to the Greek people. We are convinced that in these times, feel-good TV is essential to our scheduling mixture and will be welcomed by Antenna’s audience”.

In other news, Armoza Formats confirmed that ANT1 is producing the local version of La Famiglia. Russian net CTC is also making a remake of the Israeli comedy series.
