RTCG managers not planning to resign
Although Ms Bojana Jokić and Mr Milan Radović, members of the Public Service Council, have publicly called managerial and editorial team of RTCG to resign, they won’t do that, said Director General of Radio and Television of Montenegro, Mr Božidar Šundić.
Ms Jokić and Mr Radović called on the management to resign on social media platforms, to “protect the reputation of the Service”, cdm.me reports. Apart from initiating resignations, Ms Jokić and Mr Radović demanded disciplinary procedure against Mr Šundić, referring to the critics stated in the latest EC Report. Mr Šundić said to Pobjeda that he wouldn’t comment on the initiative he hadn’t received in written form. President of the Council, Mr Ivan Jovetić, said that “disciplinary procedure against Mr Šundić hasn’t been formally initiated”. In line with Article 29 of the Statute, disciplinary procedure against director general is initiated by the Council of the Radio and TV “on the basis of a written request that a member of the Council can submit on the ground of the information that the working duty has been violated”. Mr Radović and Ms Jokić said they had initiated the procedure. Reasons are numerous, Mr Radović thinks. “Poor rating, violation of principles and standards, inappropriate communication with members of the Council and journalists, pressure on journalists, bad and biased information program to the extent that RTCG has become tool for creating divisions and manipulations”, Mr Radović was quoted as saying. Ms Jokić said that she would reiterate the request for the initiation of the disciplinary procedure against Mr Šundić at the session which is to be held in coming days. The reason is the fact that Mr Šundić failed to fulfill his duties properly. In its latest report, EC expressed concern over the editorial independence and professional standards of Radio and TV of Montenegro. RELATED
