Kazakhstan launches new Turkistan TV channel
Kazakhstan's latest project is set to become a "golden bridge" for the exchange of information between Turkic-speaking countries and the creation of a common media space. The new Turkistan TV channel offers up-to-date information, programs, series and documentaries.
Satkurier.pl reports that the international satellite channel Kazakh TV (formerly Caspionet, existing since 2002) is already broadcasting from Kazakhstan, and is currently broadcasting in the Kazakh, Russian, English, Kyrgyz and Uzbek languages. Kazakh TV is broadcast from Eutelsat Hot Bird 13 ° E satellites. It was announced that the new Turkistan channel will broadcast in three languages - Kazakh, Russian and Turkish. This choice of languages is due to the fact that Turks, Kazakhs, Kyrgyz, Uzbeks, Tatars and a number of other nations living in central Eurasia are closely related Turkic-speaking peoples. There is a language barrier between them, and the languages of interethnic communication are Russian and Turkish. Kazakh has been chosen to promote the language in the Turkish-speaking world. The Turkistan international channel was established by order of the President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev. Currently it is not available on satellite. RELATED
