Setanta Sports renews EPL deal for Ukraine
The group of channels Setanta Sports has agreed with the English Premier League on an exclusive three-year extension of the rights to broadcast matches in the seasons from 2022/23 to 2024/25, the press service said.
The new agreement provides for a significant increase in the number of matches available for live broadcast. Starting with the 2022/23 season, all 380 matches will be available on Setanta Sports' linear TV channels and digital platforms. As a result, viewers will be able to watch all the games across Setanta Sports linear TV and digital platforms for the next three seasons. Commenting on the extension, Dwyer McCaughley, CEO of Setanta Sports, said: “We are delighted that we will continue to be the only place in Ukraine to watch the Premier League for the remainder of the current season and for a further three seasons through to 2024/25. The Premier League has always had a huge following throughout Ukraine and more so recently with two of their national players, Zinchenko and Yarmolenko, playing regularly for Manchester City and West Ham respectively. We look forward to continuing to show this fantastic product with great Ukrainian commentary for the forthcoming seasons”. Paul Molnar, chief media officer at the Premier League, added: “The Premier League is delighted to build on our long-term partnership with Setanta Sports in announcing an agreement in Ukraine for a further three seasons. Setanta Sports delivers excellent coverage of the Premier League and fans in Ukraine can look forward to more live matches than ever before and a commitment to broadcasting with Ukrainian commentary”.
