PPF chooses Yettel brand for its telco operations
In the spring of 2018, the Czech PPF Group acquired the Hungarian, Bulgarian, Montenegrin and Serbian subsidiaries from the Norwegian telecommunications giant. The agreement signed at that time also stipulates that Telenor will allow the use of its name by the beginning of 2021 at the latest. This eventually became 2022 due to the pandemic. Today, PPF announced the new brand of its telco operations.
From March 1, Telenor Magyarország, Telenor Serbia and Telenor Bulgaria will continue to operate under the name Yettel. The name change is part of a wide-ranging process involving the PPF Group's three telecommunications companies. Other options for the brand included Pannon (formerly used in Hungary) and Laa, according to reports. RELATED
