Hungaro DigiTel wins TV2 tender
Hungaro DigiTel Ltd. (HDT), a member of the 4iG Group, has won the TV2 Group’s uplink tender. HDT and its global satellite service partner Intelsat will provide digital signal transmission and broadcasting to reception points in Hungary and beyond its borders. Thanks to this agreement, Hungaro DigiTel further strengthens its market leader position in Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region.
HDT will provide satellite signal transmission services to the media group from 2022. Under the terms of the agreement, HDT and its subcontractor Intelsat, one of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial telecommunications providers, will transmit the signals of 14 channels of the TV2 Group in Hungary and the surrounding countries. HDT will provide terrestrial digital signal transmission, and Intelsat will provide satellite signal transmission and coverage. “The transmission of the TV channels belonging to the TV2 group reached its highest viewership in 2021*, will be carried out by Hungaro DigiTel and Intelsat specialists with outstanding expertise and experience. Our cooperation with the TV2 Group and Intelsat will further strengthen HDT’s leading position in Hungary and the Central and Eastern European region", said Péter Fekete, Managing Director of Hungaro DigiTel Ltd. and member of the Board of Directors of 4iG Plc. “We are proud that the TV2 Group, which has the largest portfolio of channels, has chosen Hungaro DigiTel as a partner. With this agreement, two of Hungary’s leading companies in their respective fields have entered into cooperation", added Péter Fekete. Intelsat is one of the world’s most trusted satellite telecommunications operators, and thanks to its partnership with HDT, it now brings 200 Hungarian-language TV channels to nearly 2 million viewers.
