Ukrainian nets launch news marathons, unscramble TV signal amid Russian invasion
StarLightMedia TV channels (STB, ICTV, Novy) have launched a joint TV marathon "Attack on Ukraine" in connection with the Russian invasion in the country. The marathon started after about 11.00. The marathon is hosted by Anastasia Mazur.
TV channels are available in all provider networks except Triolan. On the morning of February 24, the channel signal was unavailable, and a stationary screen was broadcast instead of video. The rest of the providers did not stop broadcasting channels. 1+1 and Ukraina/Ukraine 24 were the first major channels to start marathons in connection with the start of the Russian Federation's military operation against Ukraine. Marathons also started on news channels. Espresso, Pryamiy, Channel 24 report on the attacks of Ukrainian cities by Russian forces. In the meantime Inter continued airing TV series. After the start of the offensive, ICTV, 1+1 and Suspilne unscrambled their signals in connection with the martial law announced in the country. SLM announced that it won’t be airing advertisements on February 24. Its ad partner Ocean Media Plus stated: "We appeal to the companies of our partners, our advertisers and individuals. We ask you to stay calm and do your job, because any state needs a functioning economy. The broadcast schedule of StarLightMedia, will be changed to inform the public about events in the country. Today, February 24, advertising will be suspended.” The company plans to resume advertising on February 25. RELATED
