Netflix stops production on all Russian projects
The streaming platform Netflix has stopped work on Russian original projects, Bulletin Kinoprokatchika reports, citing its own sources.
The American video service has been producing four series in cooperation with Russian film companies: the Anna K drama series produced by 1-2-3 Production, Drug Druga (Friend of the Friend) the series with Alexander Petrov produced by Vodorod and Monkey Style, the series Nothing Special by 1-2-3 Production and the crime thriller Zato. At the same time, payments to Netflix have begun to recover. Cableman's source said that he registered for the basic subscription of the video service using an Alfa-Bank card. Previously, users complained that they were unable to register a subscription to Netflix using Alfa-Bank and Tinkoff cards. Against the backdrop of the Russian "military special operation" on the territory of Ukraine, the major Hollywood film studios Disney, Warner Bros. and Sony declared a boycott on the Russian film market. On Wednesday, March 2, they were joined by Universal Pictures. Experts predict that in the future, Western producers may completely cease cooperation with both Russian state media and private business if the political situation does not change. RELATED
