20+ international operators air the United News, CEE broadcasters with content in Ukrainian
 04 Mar 2022
1+1 Media continues to systematically fight against Russian propaganda and strike blows on the information front. As of yesterday, more than 30 local operators from Poland, Estonia, Canada, Lithuania, Latvia, Bulgaria, Switzerland, Germany and other countries have turned off Russian propaganda TV channels both on satellite and in cable networks, OTT platforms and others.

In turn, more than 20 providers have already started broadcasting the "United News" marathon - a consolidated broadcast of Ukrainian TV channels, which honestly tells about the war and aggression of the Russian Federation. Among them are Canadian operators Bell and Walnut TV, Czech O2, Vodafone and Axacom, Polish Play and AKPA Polska and others; UA:Pershy is also available on MUX-8, TVP Go, TVP VOD and TVP Stream in Poland. TV3 Group in the Baltics carries the Ukraine24 channel, providing an English translation of the network and also prepping a Russian-language translation. Vodafone in the CR plans to start broadcasting 1+1 International today.

Since February 26, the channels of all media groups of Ukraine have been broadcasting in the format of a single information broadcast "United News". Media groups take turns to provide uninterrupted information. Representatives of the Armed Forces, the National Security and Defense Council, the Security Service and other structures, on which the course of events depends, join the broadcast. TV channels objectively and promptly provide comprehensive information from different regions of the country 24/7 and are ready to supply their TV signal to providers from around the world to provide broadcasting and coverage of true events.

Technical parameters for broadcasting: Astra 4A satellite, frequency 12130, flow rate 27500, vertical polarization, FEC ¾.

Meanwhile countries with a high number of refugees from Ukraine start offering news services and special content in Ukrainian. In Slovakia, pubcaster RTVS (STV) will start offering news in Ukrainian on its news net :24 (as we reported RTVS replaced STV3 with a news network following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine). The newscast in Ukrainian will be aired at 16.55; temporarily RTVS will offer the news on STV2 at 18.30 – the first edition was aired on Thursday. News net Ta3 already started a news service in Ukrainian. In Poland, pubcaster TVP has started offering content for Ukrainian kids on TVP ABC 2.

About 7.5 million children live in Ukraine. Due to the ongoing military conflict, most of them are in a state of increasing health and life threat. Every day, thousands of children cross the Polish border. For them, war is a great trauma and a loss of sense of security.

Polish Television, out of concern for the youngest citizens of Ukraine, decided to use selected TVP ABC 2 slots to present fairy tales prepared for the children of refugees from Ukraine. They will be broadcast in the coming weeks at 6.00, 12.00 and 18.00.

1+1 Media also continues to work on the coverage of the military events of the Russian aggression on the territory of Ukraine for the international audience.

News from the UNIAN information resource is already systematically published also in English, so that international journalists have uninterrupted access to reliable information. UNIAN has a special page on FB in English.

Also from February 28, on the YouTube channels of TSN and 1+1 are published digests of The War in Ukraine - special English-language newscasts with key events of Russian aggression during the day.

In addition, on March 2, 1+1 Media launched a bilingual Instagram account War stories in Ukraine. Videos and photos of real people whose lives have been radically changed or taken away by the war will be published there in English and Russian. The aim is to draw the attention of foreigners and Russians in particular to the facts of criminal actions of the Russian Federation that are taking place in Ukraine.

"We attract all possible resources to communicate with the world. We want the citizen of every country in the world to know what is happening in Ukraine, how our land is being destroyed and our people are being killed. This is an information war, and the more support we have, the more useful we will be to the state. Now this is our task 1," 1+1 commented.

In addition, the UNIAN news agency, which is part of the 1+1 Media group and has the largest operational news service in Ukraine, is opening its photo bank for all media, influencers and international agencies. Anyone who wants to cover their materials in the media can use all the photos related to Ukraine's resistance to Russian aggression for free.
