Prima TV and Save the Children raise funds for refugees
More and more media outlets in Romania are joining humanitarian campaigns for refugees. After PRO TV, Digi 24, Kiss Fm and Gândul, Prima TV also announced such an initiative on Friday.
Prima TV is involved in a fundraising campaign for refugees in Ukraine, in partnership with Save the Children, which has been providing asylum to refugee children since 1995. The station encourages its viewers and all those who want to make single donations of 2 euros, via SMS, to the number 8827. "Humanity is showing its most beautiful face these days in Romania. The war on the border with Ukraine has sparked a huge wave of empathy, and civil society has reacted quickly and jumped to the aid of tens of thousands of refugees in the neighboring country. Prima TV believes in the good and joins the Save the Children organization in its mission to raise funds to help the little refugees overcome the nightmare they are going through. Tens of thousands of children woke up with their stolen childhood. They became wanderers with their families. I run away from the peace of my home, from my country, from the fear of war. I'm running for my life!” - Prima TV said. Save the Children Romania field teams, supported by volunteers, provide humanitarian assistance to Ukrainian refugee children at the border crossings of Sighet, Siret, Giurgiulesti and Isaccea and in the Asylum Seekers' Centers of the General Inspectorate for Immigration in Maramures, Suceava and Galaţi.
