REM will “never” impose sanctions on Russian media
The Serbian electronic media regulator (REM) will never impose sanctions on any media from Russia, said in an interview for Sputnik the President of REM's Council, Olivera Zekić.
'We will never impose any sanctions on any media from the Russian Federation for one simple reason, which is that we really stand for freedom of speech and opinion. What's happening on the world map right now is a severe hypocrisy and we don't know who will be able to stand in its way,' Zekić said. According to Sputnik, Zekić assessed the interruption of the broadcasting of the channel Russia Today as 'a severe hypocrisy'. 'Telekom Serbia is broadcasting a total of three Russian news channels - RTR Planeta, Rossiya 24 and Russia Today. As for the latter, satellite providers suspended the delivery of its signal last Thursday, which is why it isn't available to users. Regarding Rossiya 24 and RTR Planeta, they are still broadcast without interruptions,' Zekić said. RELATED
