Ukrainian watchdog finds propaganda in Russian-language Euronews
The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine has asked the European office of Euronews to stop cooperating with the Russian-language feed and revoke the rights to use the brand.
The regulator reviewed the Russian-language version of Euronews and concluded that the selection of materials, texts and the general position of the Russian-language feed is “extremely untrue” and is influenced by official Moscow on the events in Ukraine. "We also ask you to convey our indignation to the owners of the company. Their inaction or deliberate distortion of reality, which resorted to the Russian-language feed, will eventually lead to reputational damage and financial collapse of one of the most respected European brands," said the National Council. Deputy Chairman of the National Council Oleh Chernysh on Facebook called on providers to pay attention to the Russian-language version of Euronews: "The National Council can not interfere in the economic activities of licensees, but I am confident that you will make the right decision," he wrote.
