Danish DR to open correspondent office in Kyiv
Danish pubcaster DR announced yesterday that it will open a correspondent office in Kyiv in June. It will be staffed by DR’s Ukraine and Russia correspondent Matilde Kimer and Ukraine reporter Louise Brodthagen.
DR’s editor of international news Niels Kvale commented on the decision: “Ukraine is the most important story of the time across the country and abroad. We want to continue to be a leader in history and ensure that we are also there when fatigue sets in in other media. It requires a permanent foothold in Ukraine that can follow the war from day to day and not least the Ukrainians' everyday life in the war.” For now, it is planned to keep that office until the end of 2022. “If the situation in Kyiv / Ukraine worsens, we will of course take the necessary measures. Both employees, like all DR employees working in Ukraine, have undergone security training,” Kvale added. RELATED
