Some of the most successful decision makers in the TV industry will gather on the panel VIEW FROM THE TOP IN TV INDUSTRY. Which business practices, values and approaches proved the most successful in this dynamic industry, will be the matter of discussion delivered by these speakers:

Hans Troelstra, CEO, M7 Group

Christoph Limmer, Executive Vice President, Video Services and Regional
Vice President Eastern and Central Europe, Eutelsat

Branko Čakarmiš, General Director, PRO PLUS

Responsibility for verified and reliable information is especially important today, and strategies and tools used in doing so will be discussed on the panel FTA'S KEY ROLE IN A CRISIS. How do leading FTA television channels distinguish truth from false news will be revealed by:

Robert Šveb, General Director, Croatian Radiotelevision (HRT)

Dražen Mavrić, Head of the Management Board, Nova TV

Matthias Settele, General Director TV Markíza and Member of the Editorial Board, CME:

“We check the facts, we send our journalists on the ground, we bring the context of the news, we verify the information. That is why FTA channels are very important, not only during the crisis. We are looking forward to discussing with all of you and see you on NEM Dubrovnik!”, said Mr. Settele.

Free-to-air television influence will also be the topic on the panel IS FTA STILL THE BEST WAY TO REACH A MASS AUDIENCE? sponsored by Prva TV. Kateryna Edelshtein, SVP East Europe Area Leader, Nielsen, will especially contribute to the discussion.

The global TV industry, especially in the pay TV segment, was disturbed by the growing number of streaming platforms. However, the CEE region is an exception since it has witnessed a steady growth of pay TV users. How does the CEE region resist global trends will be discussed of the panel PAY TV: GLOBAL TRENDS VS. CEE TRENDS sponsored by AMC Networks International. One of the panelists is Zbigniew Pruski, Commercial Director, Branded Services, BBC Studios, who will also be joining the Q&A with Kasia Madera, after the panel.

Special program: New Law in Croatia

NEM Dubrovnik 2022 will this year serve as a platform for an exclusive announcement of new legislative regulations about electronic media that will have impact operators, streaming platforms, and national televisions in Croatia and on Croatian audiovisual professionals. Special program under the name of NEW LAW IN CROATIA, sponsored by Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), Agency for Electronic Media in Croatia (AEM) and Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media, will consist of panels, business practices and a networking event.

The new regulations will be discussed through the welcoming speech by Nina Obuljen Koržinek, Minister of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, and through business practices we will see examples of investment from most successful European operators in original local production. Panel moderated by Krešimir Partl, State secretary in the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, will gather representatives of leading Croatian operators, production companies and Croatian Audiovisual Centre. New co-production models and deals between FTA's, streamers and others are coming our way. In the EU, streamers must offer a 30% quota of European content to EU subscribers, and they must re-invest a percentage of their revenues in local production. The co-production of key European TV industry players will be the topic of discussion on a separate panel, governed by Jonathan Broughton, Head of Strategy, EBU.

Presentations and networking events

One of the European TV industry leaders is the production company ZDF Studios, which will host the first evening. “We will open the festival with a surprise screening, we’ll be having drinks together and a party later, it will be ZDF Studios night. I am very happy to see you there - soon!” said Mirela Nastase, Director Drama, ZDF Studios.

Beta Film will host a second evening and will present its newest TV content from its own production. Veronika Kovacova, EVP International Sales & Acquisitions Eastern Europe and Turkey, Beta Film GbmH announced the participation: “I am very much looking forward to Beta Night at NEM, and you should as well! I cannot reveal at the moment what we will feature, but it will be fantastic! I hope to see you in Dubrovnik!”

The third night is reserved for Telekom Srbija which will host a party in the legendary club Lazareti, placed in Dubrovnik's Old Town. On the same day, Telekom Srbija will present their new content.

During the four days of NEM, companies Blue Ant Media, SPI International/FilmBox, Canon and Zattoo will also present themselves.
Technological innovations have transformed the industry and completely changed the way we consume TV content over the last several years.
Vionlabs, Brightcove and Whip Media are technology companies that participate firsthand in this new era of television and will share their knowledge and experience with potential partners during TV Tech Showcase presentations.

During the four days of the event where panel-discussions, presentations, screenings, market and networking will be alternating, NEM Dubrovnik 2022 is an unmissable event for all the leading professionals in the TV industry who are interested in new trends.

The event will be mostly held in the open. For everybody’s safety, all participants will have to have valid COVID passes or negative test results.
