The Russian-language marathon FreeDom was organized in early March by the media groups SLM, Inter, 1+1 and MGU for the multimedia platform of foreign broadcasting UATV. The task of the FreeDom marathon is to give an opportunity to tell the truth about the Ukrainian-Russian war to "Russian-speaking viewers from all over the world." In particular, the appearance of such a channel was a response to the worldwide request for a Russian-language TV channel that tells the truth about the events in Ukraine. According to DM sources, much of the marathon team is based in Warsaw. The start of the project was announced by the Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko, who called it "opposition to the war in the information space" and called for "opening the eyes of Russians together." Detector Media analyst Andriy Liubarets analyzed the marathon and concluded that it largely duplicates the United News marathon and was addressed to Ukrainian rather than foreign audiences. RELATED
