Paprika Studios and RTL Hungary announce the most popular international television pitch forum in Central and Eastern Europe. The series idea competition aims to find genuine and “never seen” TV series ideas. The winner receives 10,000 Euros, and the idea will be developed into a script and then into a pilot episode that will be presented to the public by RTL Hungary.

Applicants can send their ideas until July 7 to the Hypewriter International Television Pitch Forum. Hypewriter is waiting for original television series without any genre or experience background restrictions.

An internationally acclaimed jury of television and film professionals will select the best eight works and invite their creators to present their ideas in person to Budapest at the end of September. The final round that will be held in English will provide unique opportunities for the applicants to introduce their ideas not just to the jury and the invited guests but also to the members of the press.

Last year more than 450 pitch ideas arrived from 38 countries, most from the Central and Eastern European region, but also excellent entries arrived from the United States, India, Brazil, Iran, Australia, or Zambia as well.

The previous year was not only memorable because of the exceptionally high number of entries, but also because at the same time 2018 Hypewriter winner’s work (The Butcher) was presented to the audience by RTL Most+ and it was also announced that instead of making a pilot episode of the 2019 Hyperwriter winning work (Golden Age) a full season would be produced in a collaboration by Paprika Studios and RTL Hungary.

It is also worthy to mention that the last year's winner of the Hypewriter (Katalin Besenyei’s Angel Trumpets) is already on the fast track: the development of the script already started: the first episode will be shot in June directed by Ildikó Enyedi who was Oscar-nominee in 2018 with her movie On Body and Soul.
