RTR channels appear again on Hot Bird
Two Russian TV channels RTR Planeta and Rossiya 24 returned to the Eutelsat Hot Bird satellite (13°E). They continue to broadcast in SD quality with the MPEG-2 codec in an unencoded form.
There is no information on what prompted the resumption of broadcasting. Both channels were removed from the Hot Bird 13°E satellite on June 7, due to the sixth package of sanctions, which was announced at the end of May by the President of the European Council, Charles Michel. The sanctions, among other things, include a ban on the broadcasting of the RTR Planeta, Rossiya 24 and TV Center TV channels in the EU. There has been no information on the resumption of broadcasting of the latter. A representative of the Russia Television and Radio (RTR, the owner of RTR Planeta and Rossiya 24) said earlier that there were no plans to challenge the suspension of the broadcasting. RELATED
