Emitel and Polsat help to keep TV broadcasting in Ukraine
Emitel, the operator of digital television multiplexes in Poland, became involved in helping to keep television and radio broadcasting in Ukraine. Emitel provided, among others free high-power transmitters for broadcasting digital television and FM radio transmitters together with all the systems necessary for their operation. Part of the equipment necessary for broadcasting television was also provided by Polsat Plus Group.
Several dozen Ukrainian broadcasting centers were damaged as a result of Russian missile attacks and bombing, which began at the end of February. “Due to the information war and the safety of citizens, the restoration of a stable broadcast of radio and television is today one of the key tasks for the Ukrainian government. After Russia's attack on Ukraine and the first media reports about damage to the telecommunications and broadcasting infrastructure, we established direct contact with Ukrainian partners and offered support. However, the launch of the aid had to wait for a favorable moment. As soon as we received an official request from the Ukrainian government to help repair communication systems, we immediately took appropriate action,” Agnieszka Sobucka, Emitel's spokesman, told Wirtualnemedia.pl. The devices donated by Emitel will help restore the possibility of broadcasting TV and radio signals where it is particularly needed today, i.e. in eastern Ukraine. RELATED
