US and Bulgarian prodcos open joint office in Greece
Los Angeles–based Get Me Out Productions announced a partnership with Bulgaria’s Film Fixers Balkans to open a joint office in Athens, and partner on projects focusing on unscripted production.
For Get Me Out, which was founded by Greek-American producers Akim Anastopoulo and Hali Anastopoulo, the partnership represents a European expansion, with a focus on Greece. In addition to producing joint projects in Europe, Get Me Out and Film Fixers Balkans will combine resources on development, pre- and post-production services, and distribution support, as well as location and logistics support, crew sourcing, and tax incentive partnerships. “Since we first established Get Me Out Productions, we’ve had our sights on expanding globally and in particular to our family’s homeland of Greece,” Akim and Hali Anastopoulo said in a release. “We aim to drive more engagement and collaboration between the U.S. and Greek content industries, with a focus on unscripted television production and formats that can be shared between cultures and exported all over the world. Film Fixers Balkans is an ideal partner with their expertise in the region, and we’re very pleased to establish this new business venture with their excellent team.” “We are excited to partner with Get Me Out Productions on this new venture to grow our footprint in the unscripted production sector and our links with the U.S. production industry,” added Trayan Velev, MD of Film Fixers Balkans. “Over the last seven years, we have introduced many industry clients to the great creative minds, outstanding crews and beautiful locations of the Balkans. This partnership will allow us to do more in the long term, benefiting the Greek and Balkan creative industries and larger economies.” Film Fixers Balkans has advised and supported Balkans-based shoots for shows including WWE Total Divas, 90-Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Naked & Afraid and Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
