A number of channels violating broadcasting rules
The National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting continues to monitor the airwaves and record violations. The regulator's member Maksym Onoprienko spoke about this at the July 28 meeting, Detector Media reports.
"Some of our licensees are trying to take advantage of the martial law. And we decided to make this situation public. Since no checks are carried out during the martial law, the National Council has recorded violations in the channels' broadcasts and turned to them for explanations," he said. According to him, most broadcasters do provide explanations, and those will be taken into account when the cases are reviewed after the victory. However, some of the channels ignore the requests and provide no explanations. "This is a dangerous trend, because we regard it as exploiting the martial law. Often the violations we record are repeated. Currently, such situations are most often recorded on the air of the channels Pryamiy, Xsport, Channel 5, TET, ICTV, and 2+2. We want to stress that the monitoring continues, the violations are being recorded, and you will have to answer for them," he added. According to the NCTRB's monitoring, the most violations have to do with non-compliance with broadcasting rules on days of remembrance and mourning, there is often no burning candle on screen, no moment of silence or announcements. The violations also include broadcasting programs and documentaries without Ukrainian subtitles and invective language. RELATED
