Sarajevo Cinema Fund and SFF seal new cooperation deal
This Tuesday, August 2, the President of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo Antonio Beus and the administrative director of the Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) Dževad Mujan signed the largest cooperation agreement to date, Klix.ba informs.
According to the decision on the selection of beneficiaries of the funds allocated for complementary activities in the promotion of local films at festivals and screenings, at the premises of the umbrella film institution for the support and development of local cinema, the president of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo, Antonio Beus, and the administrative director of the SFF, Dževad Mujan, signed the largest contract to support the realization of the biggest cinema events on the Balkans and Southeastern Europe. According to the instructions on the distribution of the budget of the Government of the BiH Federation and within the framework of the public tender for the support for complementary activities of projects dedicated to the promotion of local films at festivals and film screenings, the foundation allocated a total amount of 500.000 BAM. Considering the fact that during its existence and activities both on the regional, European and world movie scene as well as in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the SFF has been publicly recognized as the biggest promoter of BiH cinematography and film, the decision of the Management Board of the Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo was to support the implementation of the 28th SFF with the largest amount in history allocated to a single project in the category of complementary activities in the amount of 180.000 BAM. Given that the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival will start on August 12, the official signing of the contract was held this Monday and on that occasion Mujan informed Beus about the current state of preparations for this year's edition of the festival handing him this year's edition of the SFF magazine. This year, the Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo supported 4 film projects with the amount of almost 30.000 BAM within the framework of supporting complementary activities in the categories of student film, the preservation of archive materials of Bosnian cinematography supported the Cinematheque of BiH with the project of archiving and preserving and presenting all short, documentary and feature films on all kinds of audiovisual media with the amount of 50.000 BAM and in the category of promotion of BiH films at film festivals and screenings supported the realization of a total of 13 film festivals held in Bosnia and Herzegovina and 4 projects related to the promotion of local films at various movie screenings. These amounts are by far the largest that have been allocated and awarded to the selected beneficiaries in the category of complementary activities. As part of the capital project of digitization of cinema halls in local communities in the Federation, 14 cities and public institutions that manage cinema halls have applied for the tender in this new category of support and the necessary equipment is currently being evaluated in order to publish a tender for the joint delivery of equipment from the supplier, who offers the best conditions. The Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo has invited all legal entities standing behind projects supported in the category of complementary activities to contact them ASAP via email or by phone in order to take over and sign their own contracts in support of the decision of the Management Board. The Foundation for Cinematography Sarajevo wished the SFF team and all of the beneficiaries, who got financial support in this year's tender a successful realization of their upcoming projects and events.
