Ukraine accuses DW of spreading Russian propaganda
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW) to pay attention to the manipulations spread by their Russian office.
"At the moment, it is unclear to us why the Russian office of the German broadcaster backs Russian propaganda up, manipulates quotes, and substitutes concepts regarding the causes and consequences of Russia's aggression against Ukraine," spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Oleh Mykolenko, shared with European Pravda. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave some examples with propagandistic quotes of the DW Russian office, such as "recognize Ukraine as a terrorist state," "one mistake by Ukrainian defenders may cause a nuclear disaster at the Zaporizhzhia NPP," "an entry ban for Russians to the West will not help to beat Putin," "Vogue confirmed to DW that the magazine did not print the photo of Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun" and a photo of the Nazi Fuhrer next to the cover of the Ukrainian presidential couple. Nikolenko added that DW is a state-owned broadcaster funded by the German federal tax budget. "Due to the threats caused by Russian disinformation, the German government has already blocked the Russian propaganda channel RT in Germany. And we call on our German partners to respond to the narratives of Russian propaganda spread by DW's," the statement said. RELATED
