Polish journalists call to try Russian propagandists as war criminals
Polish journalists called to try Russian propagandists who are "inciting a spiral of hatred against the attack victim Ukraine" as war criminals. This is said in the statement issued by the Polish Journalists Association on August 24, Polskie Radio reports.
"In view of the six-month barbaric invasion of independent Ukraine, we, as representatives of the Polish Journalists Association, again demand accountability for the crimes committed there against the civilian population not only for the bandits in Russian uniform, but also for the so-called journalists – propagandists who are loyal to the Kremlin regime. Those propagandists are not only misinforming the global public about Moscow's bloody aggression against Ukraine, but also encouraging it to fight against Ukrainians in the name of the imperialist interests of Putin and his supporters," the Association said in the statement. "Russian propaganda figures who pretend to be journalists, such as Margarita Simonyan, Volodymyr Solovyov, Dmytro Kiselyov, Olga Skabeeva, and many others, should be tried as war criminals after the fall of Putin! These are merely examples of liars and warmongers pretending to be journalists. They are the most famous faces of Russian propaganda. Unfortunately, there are many more of them, seeing as there is no free mass media in Russia now," the authors of the statement emphasize. The Polish Journalists Association stresses that "lies, misinformation and, above all, incitement of hatred, encouraging the murder of innocent people in an independent country will never be considered journalism, and Russian propaganda centers will never become the media." "Therefore, global journalistic organizations and national media associations must constantly exert influence on democratic governments and international institutions with regards to the obvious need to develop tribunals for the Russian army's bandits who are sowing terror in Ukraine, and to recognize russian propagandists, who are encouraging the aggression against Ukraine in the Kremlin media and trying to justify mass murder, rape, and looting, as war criminals, too," the statement says.
