ICTV marks its 30th anniversary with demining fundraiser
The ICTV team has decided to help in demining of the territory of Ukraine. Instead of celebrations on the occasion of its anniversary, the TV channel will hold a gift raffle to raise funds, the broadcaster's press service reports.
"Because of the war with Russia, the Ukrainian land is literally littered with mines. According to estimates of the State Emergency Service, 185.000 square km are littered with remnants of Russian missiles and projectiles that can detonate at any moment. Such statistics put us in the same category as the most mined countries in the world,” said the appeal of the ICTV journalists. “It will take us about 10 years to neutralize the mines that have already contaminated a third of the entire area of Ukraine. But together we can do it much faster!" The prize draw unites the efforts of TV presenters and teams of ICTV’s best-rated programs. For example, the news program Fakty, which celebrates 21 years on air, and the talkshow Freedom of Speech, which has been on the air for 16 years, participate in the charity campaign. The Civil Defense and Anti-Zombie programs, which have been fighting Russian propaganda since 2014, will also join. According to the terms of the prize draw, the audience must pay a charitable contribution of UAH 100 or more. The charity action was supported by the Dobro.ua charity fund and "Solomianski Kotiki". The collected funds will be used for the needs of the pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service, the explosives service of the National Police, sappers of the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Special Transport Service. To become a charity sapper, viewers need to go to the website of the charity platform, choose a gift and transfer the minimum declared value. "September has always been special for us. Every year, we celebrated a new stage in the life of ICTV, celebrated the birthdays of Fakty and Freedom of Speech, launched the new fall season with serial premieres and top shows. They were proud of their victories and planned new achievements. This year, our main desire is a joint victory over the occupier and the opportunity to walk safely on our land," said the head of ICTV, Anastasia Shteinhaus. RELATED
