New ANT1 series attracts international interest, Mega hit added to Netflix catalog
Antenna Studios Greece premiered at MIPCOM Cannes the new phycological thriller Save Me. The show which was also part of this year’s CEE Screenings gained momento during and after MIPCOM and is promising to be an international hit for Antenna Studios.
In the series, female artist, Nicole Pomanou, returns to her culturally and religiously diverse hometown in Northern Greece for her father’s memorial, when her younger sister goes missing. At the same time a mutilated female body emerges a few kilometers away in the vast isolated wetlands of the region. The town’s dysfunctional community has to not only come to terms that a serial killer is on the loose but also face its own dark secrets from the past. A highly-skilled but troubled female city detective, Despina Loukidis, returns to her home town to investigate the gruesome murder of a woman. Soon she realizes the killing is the work of a serial killer and the next victim might be someone connected to her own past, the younger sister of her former classmate Nicole. Despina and Nicole will have to race against the clock to stop the killings and rescue Nicole’s sister, but also face their own demons and traumatic childhood experiences, something both women tried to escape for years. In this gripping thriller nothing is as it seems, the past triggers the events of today. Is a past crime the key to find the murder in the present? Can you survive a violent trauma psychologically unharmed? Save Me is not only the hunt for a serial killer but also an emotional rollercoaster of passion, redemption and revenge.
