Projects from Bulgaria, Slovakia and Ukraine win Pitch Awards at Heart of Europe 2022
Yesterday evening, following three pitch sessions in the categories Series, Feature Film and Documentary, the winners of the Pitch Awards at the Heart of Europe International TV Festival were announced during a live ceremony.
In the Series category, the award was won by the Bulgarian project called Sophia’s Daughters. It is currently in scriptwriting and pre-production stage with screenwriter Irena Ivanova and director Neda Morfov. The project was pitched by Kristina Stefanova, Marketing Director and Co-Founder of Workspace Bulgaria. The story follows the summer idyll of Sophia (73) and her three daughters – Vyara (45), Nadya (40) and Lyuba (35), meaning Faith, Hope and Love in Bulgarian. The peace and quiet is disturbed by an accident causing the death of Nadya’s husband. She tries to restore her memories in order to find out the truth about his death. The estimated budget of the series is 750.000 euros. The Feature Film category was won by the Slovak idea billed The Singing House presented by Andrej Kolencik of Admiral Films. The working budget is 498.000 euros. The story follows the conflict between a mysterious woman and her neighbors which escalates after she install a device on the house which play opera arias 24/7. The project is based on real events. The Award in the Documentary category was won by Ginger Media, part of OUP (Organization of Ukrainian Producers) with the project World War Cyber. As CEETV reported earlier, the project focuses on the first cyber war in the world and how Ukraine fights the aggressor online. The budget of the project is 200.000 euros. RELATED
