EU to fund Ukraine's "dynamic digital transformation"
 21 Feb 2023
The European Union is launching the Digital Transformation for Ukraine (DT4UA) project and allocating EUR 17.4 million in assistance, the press service of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine said in a press release.

"Despite Russia's full-scale war, Ukraine is demonstrating one of the most dynamic digital transformation processes in the world. It is our duty to help ensure the continued development of digital services in Ukraine. These services, which were essential during the war, remain relevant in the recovery process. That is why the European Union supports Ukraine in improving digital services and e-governance," said Matti Maasikas, Head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine.

As part of the project, the funds will be directed to four key areas, including the development of digital services and the Diia application, the improvement of data exchange between registers and state institutions, the development of the electronic identification infrastructure in accordance with the eIDAS regulation and an electronic management system that which will allow transparent consideration of criminal cases.

The team of the Ministry of Digital Transformation will implement the project together with European partners from the Estonian e-Governance Academy, which has been cooperating with the Ukrainian public sector for 12 years. Currently, the Academy is implementing four projects in Ukraine with a total budget of EUR 41 million.

The European Union has been supporting Ukraine's digital transformation since 2016 with a total budget of over EUR 51 million.
