Fake hacker attack videos against Polish TVs trend on TikTok
TikTok has been swamped by fake hacker attacks videos against Polish channels. For over a week, users of TikTok and YouTube users from Poland have been posting recordings of alleged hacker attacks against TVP, Polsat and TVN.
Video material with the alleged Polsat attack appeared on TikTok a week ago. “Polsat has been hacked. Anyway, I uploaded two videos of the hacking, because I'm sick and I'm watching TV out of boredom. It's all pure coincidence. I'm lucky, very lucky,” wrote a user with the nick of possiblezefabian. The video shows a preview of the program that was interrupted by an animation of a man walking in leggings. This is accompanied by background music. Then a control picture appears instead of the station. This is to suggest that the technicians dealt with the attack in time. In the later part of the animation (it can also be found online) there are strong sex scenes of men. The video has nearly 128.000 views,1848 comments and over 18.000 shares. The same user posted a similar recording with an alleged hacker attack on TVN (the announcement of Kitchen Revolutions and TVP2 was interrupted). The animation was also intended to disrupt the program announcements. The mysterious "Animan" was also supposed to stop broadcasting TVP1. The recording from TikTok also quickly went to YouTube. “It took Polsat longer to take it off the screen than TVP,” young Internet users were excited in the comments. Others claimed that Nickelodeon and RMF FM were also attacked. “There were attacks on 5 channels and there will be even more of it,” they wrote. Only some TikTok users suspected that the recording could be manipulated. TVP strongly denied the information about the attack. When asked about the alleged attack, Tomasz Matwiejczuk, director of corporate communications, spokesperson for Telewizja Polsat claims that it was "an April Fool's joke from the forum of one of the websites". He is not surprised that users of the popular application believe in the attack. Warner Bros. Discovery TVN’s press office did not respond to WM’s question on this matter. “TVP informs that the materials published on youtube.com and tiktok.com are only an example of a fictitious production. These videos have no connection with the programs of Telewizja Polska broadcast on air, and only show prepared material. TVP informs that no TVP systems and devices have been hacked. The company appeals to stop publishing unconfirmed information that misleads the public”, the public broadcaster announced. RELATED
