CME establishes news bureau in Brussels
Effective July 1, 2023, CME will open a CME News Bureau based in Brussels. Initially, the News Bureau will be jointly staffed with experienced reporters from its leading commercial television stations in Bulgaria (bTV), Romania (PRO TV) and the Czech Republic (the Czech correspondent will jointly cover both Czech Republic & Slovakia - TV Nova and Markiza). Team members from RTL Croatia and POP TV are expected to join the CME News Bureau in the fall of 2023.
The decision to invest in establishing a CME newsroom in Brussels was made based on two factors; the successful deployment of a TV Nova news team to Brussels during the Czech Republic’s presidency of the European Commission and the upcoming European Parliament elections. The CME News Bureau will serve as the base from which CME correspondents will cover EU, NATO and other European affairs for their respective domestic audiences. Dušan Švalek, CME Deputy CEO, said: “At CME, we strive to deliver impartial and quality news reporting and news programming, and we believe that the establishment of our Brussels newsroom will enhance our news delivery and enable us to better serve and inform our audiences.” The move is consistent with CME’s editorial policy of delivering impartial news reporting to its audiences.
