MediaHub shoots new Turkish drama series Alaca
Filming has begun for MediaHub’s production venture, the Turkish drama series, Alaca, the company announced in a press release. The first phase of filming has been completed in the picturesque locations of Dalyan and the shooting has moved to Istanbul where the rest of the story is set to take place.
The plot revolves around two star-crossed lovers who years later find themselves on different sides of the same story of revenge and betrayal. As filming continues, the cast and crew of Alaca are excitedly embracing the challenges and complexities of their respective roles. The male lead of Alaca has been announced as the talented actor Melih Özkaya, who gained recognition for his portrayal of Officer Ali in popular drama series Legacy (Emanet) which has been distributed in over 40 countries. The titular character Alaca will be portrayed by young actress Ceyda Ceren Edis marking her debut in Turkish drama. Fans of Turkish drama classics will also be delighted to see some other familiar faces in the ensemble cast such as Burcu Alameman from Orphan Flowers (Kırgın Çiçekler), who takes on a sophisticated role, as well as Mine Çayıroğlu as Alaca’s mother Emel, who audiences will remember from her lengthy career in Turkish film and TV in projects such as Iffet, The Oath (Söz), and most recently Broken Lives (Kırık Hayatlar) which aired in Kanal D in 2021-2022. Ufuk Kaplan is set play Saniye, Emel’s keeper of secrets and old friend, best known for her unforgettable role as Katya in the legendary series Forbidden Love (Aşk-I Memnu) and most recently The Fate (Yazgı). MediaHub has also announced plans to unveil the series during MIPCOM, building anticipation among drama enthusiasts and Turkish series fans. With a traditionally dramatic storyline, talented cast, the creative vision and extensive distribution network of MediaHub, Alaca is poised to become a standout production that will leave viewers eagerly awaiting each episode.
