Fox Corporation CEO meets the Ukrainian president in Kyiv
Fox Corporation CEO, Lachlan Murdoch, met with Volodymyr Zelensky in the Ukrainian capital on Monday which was interpreted as a “very important signal” of support by the Ukrainian authorities.
The media mogul was accompanied by two reporters from his stable: Benjamin Hall from Fox News and Jerome Starkey from the UK tabloid the Sun. “[Zelensky] thanked Lachlan Murdoch for his visit and emphasized that it is a very important signal of support at the time when the world’s attention is blurred by other events,” stated the official website of the Ukrainian president. The Head of the Office of the Ukrainian President, Andriy Yermak, also met with Murdoch. He emphasized that the United States is a strategic partner of Ukraine, so it is very important that the American audience learns about what is happening in the country directly from the scene of events from the leading US media. The President’s Office reported that the CEO of Fox Corporation was briefed on the situation at the frontline, protection of Ukrainian skies, the state of the energy sector, the consequences of Russian aggression for civilians and infrastructure, Russian crimes against Ukrainian children, and cooperation between Ukraine, the United States and other international partners in countering full-scale Russian aggression. Lachlan Murdoch also visited the National Conservation Area “St. Sophia of Kyiv”, where he was told about the history of St. Sophia Cathedral. In addition, the Fox Corporation CEO met with representatives of all religious denominations, including those who survived Russian captivity and occupation.
