EBU: Katerina Kaskanioti appointed Managing Director of ERT
Katerina Kaskanioti has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Greek Member ERT, EBU writes.
As CEETV reported, the official appointment took place at the end of last year. Katerina Kaskanioti has been a leading executive at Nova for 23 years. She is a film producer, President of the Women in Film and Television network, and a member of the Board of Directors of Women in Film and Television International and has significantly contributed to the development of television content and digital media broadcasting in Greece. Born in Athens, she graduated from the School of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina. She began her professional journey as a production manager in a film company and continued at McCann Erickson as a producer of advertising films. In 1998, she took over the management of the first children's channel, KTV, and later assumed the general management of the first satellite digital platform, Nova. Through Nova, she introduced major international networks to the Greek audience for the first time, alongside HD channels and the first on-demand service in Greece. She was responsible for the creation and operation of the NovaCinema and NovaSports channels. She has been particularly active in promoting Greek cinema – approving and co-producing 135 feature films. Throughout her three decades of work, she has championed gender equality in the workplace and promoted the empowerment of women through film retrospectives and speeches at conferences. RELATED
