LRT helps raise €8 million for Ukraine
On the occasion of the second anniversary of Russia’s large-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Radarom! fundraising campaign has collected 8.288 million euros to purchase Lithuanian-made safe soldier kits for Ukrainian troops, Lithuania pubcaster LRT informs.
The four-week fundraising campaign was organized by LRT together with the organizations Blue/Yellow, Laisvės TV, Stiprūs kartu, and the journalist Rita Miliūtė. The final amount raised by the campaign was announced after a benefit concert on Saturday evening. With the amount donated by the Lithuanian public, businesses, and organizations, 1,115 safe soldier kits will be purchased and delivered to Ukraine. The 7,500-euro packs, each consisting of a night vision monocular, a laser sight, and an individual anti-drone, are meant to help Ukrainian soldiers stay better protected as they fight against the Russian invasion. The equipment is manufactured in Lithuania by Brolis Semiconductors and NT Service. This was the second Radarom! campaign. Last year, on the first anniversary of the war in Ukraine, it raised over 14 million euros to buy 17 tactical surveillance radars to monitor Ukraine’s airspace, as well as other equipment. RELATED
