The 1% Club opens next in Greece
During its annual Showcase event, BBC Studios announced Greece as the 10th international territory to license Magnum Media’s award-winning format The 1% Club.
Star Channel has acquired the primetime entertainment format, with the local version to be produced by Green Pixel Productions. The series is scheduled to air in fall 2024. André Renaud, SVP Global Format Sales at BBC Studios said: “This time two years ago at our annual BBC Studios’ Showcase we presented The 1% Club to buyers having already secured three international pre-sales even before the UK premiere. It makes it all the more exciting, then, that today we can celebrate Greece’s Star Channel as the milestone tenth country to commission the format at the event where it all began. I know that Star Channel and the team at Green Pixel Productions will deliver a great show, and I look forward to seeing who in Greece will make it into The 1% Club.” Karolos Alkalai, General Manager from Star Channel said: “We are thrilled to have acquired The 1% Club, a fresh and distinct game show based on wits and common sense rather than knowledge. It blends perfectly with Star Channel’s strategy to provide fun and quality entertainment to the Greek audience. As all great formats, it was an instant success in several territories, and we are confident that it will be equally successful in Greece.” RELATED
