PFF and United Media launch TV series pitch contest
The Pula Film Festival (PFF) and United Media have launched the partnership project "Make the Scene!" and announced an invitation for an international workshop on the development of television series scripts. The best project will receive a prize worth 10.000 euros.
Talented authors, together with a production company or independently, are invited to present their original and high-quality feature television series projects that will resonate in the world of contemporary storytelling. Applications for the "Make the Scene!" workshop, which will be held as part of the 71st Pula Film Festival, are open from April 2 to 30, 2024. Projects are submitted using the form available on the Festival's website: By the beginning of June, the pre-selection jury of the Pula Film Festival and United Media will select the six best projects that will participate in a workshop where the authors, under the expert guidance of mentors, will further develop their projects in two modules and prepare for the pitching that will take place during the Pula Film Festival. The first module will be held online on June 15 and 16, and the second live at the Pula Film Festival from July 15 to 17. At the Festival, an expert jury will select the best of six projects, which will receive a prize worth 10.000 euros and an exclusive opportunity to further develop the project in cooperation with United Media, a leading media company in Southeast Europe that operates in eight countries, and has already realized 40 serial projects that have been adapted and sold in more than 30 countries around the world. The competition includes feature television series without restrictions on format, number of episodes and genre. Projects must be written in English, and the number of applications per candidate is not limited. It is a condition that the projects submitted in previous tenders, public invitations and the like have not received financial support or awards of any kind. Projects from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Albania, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Italy and Austria can apply. Applications must contain a short biography of the author or author team, logline, series synopsis, pilot episode synopsis, character characterization, treatment of the season and two scheduled scenes in the form of a script. The committee for project selection will receive applications under a code, i.e. without information about the applicant. RELATED
